Teragram: Why is it?
5/1/2010
Why is it that things always go bump in the night? Like, at sunset the boat is well balanced but at midnight the wind is up, the rail is buried, spray is flying and I have to go to the mast to put in a reef.
It made me remember other crossings and the same phenomena I will say I was lucky to cross the frontal boundary in daylight on Thursday, but last night came as a surprise Actually a welcome one since the going had been slow and I finally made some speed and got a little East before it died off at daybreak.
I am taking the reef out as soon as this is done! I also need to lubricate the sail slugs as it was sticky getting up and coming down again last night So, I'll drop the whole sail and reset it.
