At some point in my life I should actually witness a regatta boat race. Just to see what call the fuss is about - and perhaps why people keep making watches for them. It could be that only very rich people are able to afford uber-expensive boats for complex races and their often just-as-rich friends are the ones who watch. Whatever the case, it seems as though many luxury watch brands build watches in honor of a boat race as often as the tide comes and goes. Originally made for a now defunct boat race, the
Corum Admiral's Cup has seen many forms. The most recent of which is as the Corum Admiral's Cup Chronograph 48 Bol d'Or Mirabaud - which takes the classic look in a large 48mm wide case in titanium an drubber, and gives it a regal looking blue dial with red gold coated hands and hour markers. You might love the mixture of black, steel tone, blue, and gold... or you might hate it. The colors are directly taken from the official colors of the Bo d'Or Mirabaud regatta colors. Inside the watch is a COSC certified Corum CO753 automatic movement. The watch is limited to just 35 pieces.
