Once, I went out of town to go to a concert, and after I got back my girlfriend asked me how the concert was. What I really wanted to say was, "It was great, and I'm really glad I got some alone time so that I could recharge and enjoy my time with you more!" What I actually said was, "It was great! I'm really glad you weren't there."
Needless to say, it did not end well.
